I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the brilliant people who have been on our water vole workshops this year. There has been an incredible diversity of skills and experience from some of the UK's top Professionals to a couple of 15 year olds just starting out. We started late in the year and only worked at one end of the stream but I think it's fair to say that everyone went home happy and with some really nice photos.
This water vole colony has had its ups and downs but now seems to have stabilised with voles found throughout the stream, albeit in fewer numbers than we might like. I recently found signs of activity in areas where voles were missing earlier in the year but which have been very productive in previous years. Hopefully, when we start again next year we can open up these particularly photogenic stretches to add another dimension to the workshops.
So, thanks again to all the participants and, of course, to Richard and Helen the owners of the site who this year added B&B in their lovely home, making 2 day workshops not only more convenient, but more fun too. We hope to see some of you back next year.
